New Venue

Kings Road - PizzaExpress - SW3

The Pheasantry on the Kings Rd is a building with an amazing history and a rich musical heritage. Initially this was a royal household sat amongst with rolling fields full of pheasants which were hunted for sport, hence the title. Over the last 100 years it has become famous for its artistic connections. During the 1930’s to 1950’s the first floor was the home of a ballet school headed up by a Russian princess. This room still has the original wooden floors and some very famous dancers indeed trained in this room.

During the swinging 60’s the Pheasantry became a bohemian place to hang out, within its walls Germaine Greer wrote the female eunuch, Eric Clapton lived, and the Beatles had one of their album sleeves photographed. Moving to the 70’s the lower floor became a music club, Queen, Hawkwind and Yvonne Elliman all performed in this intimate venue and now we are bringing this historic music venue back to life.
