Dilson Laguna - £12.50

Brazilian born and now based in north London, guitarist and songwriter Dilson Laguna has quickly established himself as a major force in the UK music scene since moving to the capital in 2005.

His range of music is eclectic, spanning jazz improvisation, modern blues, and funk grooves and pop – all played with a defining, individual style that stands him out from the crowd.

His 15-year career has seen Dilson work both as a session player - recording for bands, advertising companies and on soundtracks with various musicians and producers who have worked alongside the likes of Rolling Stones, Metallica, Super grass, Eminem, Sade and Seal to name but a few – and as a live performer, regularly entertaining audiences across America and Europe. Although Dilson can list numerous TV and Radio shows to his name, his forte and real passion is playing live on stage, and he has recently graced venues such as the O2 Arena London and Dublin, Glastonbury, V Festival and the O2 Wireless Festival at Hyde Park.

Dilson’s latest project, The Dilson Laguna Foursome, has quickly picked up a real buzz with its innovative takes on classic tunes and incredible musicianship, breathing new life into the London music scene.

New Venue

Kings Road - PizzaExpress - SW3

The Pheasantry on the Kings Rd is a building with an amazing history and a rich musical heritage. Initially this was a royal household sat amongst with rolling fields full of pheasants which were hunted for sport, hence the title. Over the last 100 years it has become famous for its artistic connections. During the 1930’s to 1950’s the first floor was the home of a ballet school headed up by a Russian princess. This room still has the original wooden floors and some very famous dancers indeed trained in this room.

During the swinging 60’s the Pheasantry became a bohemian place to hang out, within its walls Germaine Greer wrote the female eunuch, Eric Clapton lived, and the Beatles had one of their album sleeves photographed. Moving to the 70’s the lower floor became a music club, Queen, Hawkwind and Yvonne Elliman all performed in this intimate venue and now we are bringing this historic music venue back to life.
